O‘ahu’s bus system, logically dubbed “TheBUS,” offers island-wide service. TheBus now offers Holo Cards, which allow you to tap on and off of the bus instead of paying in cash each time. Holo Cards can be purchased at numerous locations in Waikiki. You can load your card at the same locations where you purchase them. After making an account online, you can also load your card digitally on your phone or computer.

If you are traveling with a holo card, you automatically earn a day pass after your second ride and travel the rest of the day free. This amounts to $5.50 per day.

One-way fare for TheBus:

  • $3.00 for adults
  • $1.50 for youths (children 5 and under free)
  • $1.25 for seniors & persons with Disability ID cards

Exact change is required when paying in cash.
