We invite abstracts for 20 minute talks at the inaugural International Symposium of Bornean Linguistics (ISBL) and the 27th International Symposium on Malay/Indonesian Linguistics (ISMIL27), held jointly in-person at the National University of Singapore, June 5–7, 2024.
Papers presented at ISBL should be concerned with the languages of Borneo, whereas presented at ISMIL are concerned with the Malay/Indonesian language in any of its varieties. Presentations may be on any linguistic subfield, and we encourage a diverse range of theoretical and practical approaches to issues in linguistics. We particularly encourage presentations from junior scholars and those from or in partnership with local Bornean scholars and speakers of Bornean languages. The language of presentation is English.
