Important Information

Arrival in Lombok: Please plan to arrive in Lombok no later than the afternoon of Friday, June 5 (the day preceding the first day of ISMIL) so as not to miss our special gala dinner.

Audiovisual aids: A beamer for computer presentations will be available. You would be able to connect your own laptop, or copy your presentation from a flash disk. Unfortunately, an overhead projector will not be available.

Financial assistance: Unfortunately no financial assistance is available from the ISMIL 13 organizing committee.

Gala dinner: A traditional Indonesian buffet with a cultural performance will be hosted by the Organizing Committee on Friday, June 5 (the day preceding the first day of ISMIL) at 7:00 pm. All ISMIL participants will receive a complimentary dinner ticket together with their registration materials. Additional dinner tickets for guests will be available at the registration desk for $20 (or the equivalent in rupiah).

Handouts: We encourage all participants, including those who use transparencies or PowerPoint presentations, to provide handouts. Please bring about 30 copies.

Health: Currently no immunizations are required from visitors to Indonesia. As in all tropical areas, visitors to Indonesia are encouraged to take precautions against common tropical diseases such as malaria and dengue fever. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides useful information for visitors to Indonesia on their website: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/destinationIndonesia.aspx

Length of presentations: Presentations are 20 minutes long, followed by 10 minutes for questions and answers. Participants are kindly requested to keep to their allotted time.

Papers: It is not necessary to bring a full version of your paper. Handouts would be sufficient (see 'Handout's).

Taxis: Ask the hotel staff or call Blue Bird Taxi, phone 627 000. If you hail a taxi on the street, Blue Bird taxis are the most reliable, and all use meters.

Tourist information: Lombok Network (http://www.lombok-network.com) provides some useful information about Lombok. Please note that this is a commercial site. It is provided for information purposes only, and no endorsement by the organizing committee is implied.
