We have arranged for special conference rates at the conference venue, the Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort. For your convenience we also list a number of other accommodation options. Please note that most rates are per room (single or double occupancy); where there is a price difference between single and double occupancy, this is noted. In March 2009 the exchange rate was about IDR 11,500 per USD. Most Indonesian hotel rooms have one king-size bed (queen-size in cheaper hotels); if you would like two separate twin beds, you must request this at the time of booking. This option may not be available at cheaper hotels. Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort To book a room at the special rate, please contact the hotel directly and be sure to ask for the special Max Planck Institute conference rate. All rates below are net, including tax and service (21%) and breakfast for two. To obtain the Indonesian rate, proof of citizenship or residence (KITAS/KITAP) will be required.

Raya Senggigi Km 8 A number of rooms have been blocked for conference participants, but as the conference will be held during the peak tourist season, we recommend that you book as early as possible. Other Accommodations There is a variety of other accommodation choices near the conference venue. All rates are correct at the time of writing (September 2008) and may change without notice. Please reconfirm the rates when making a booking and/or when checking in. The Santosa Villas & Resort This is four star (soon to be five after the renovation) luxury resort on the beach in Senggigi, next door to the conference venue. Well appointed, minimalist design, with generous pool and grounds. Price includes breakfast, double occupancy. The current rates are given below, but they will go up after the renovations. Do confirm the rate when making the booking.

Jl. Raya Senggigi Km. 8 Batu Bolong Cottages A range of very clean and exceptionally pleasant rooms set in a lovely garden, a 15-minute walk (or 3-minute drive) from the conference venue. Some rooms are on the beach. All have hot water and Western toilets. Rates include breakfast for two. Most rooms have balconies or verandas.
Garden Room: 150,000 Fan
Jalan Raya Senggigi Km 12 The New Pondok Shinta 10 simple, clean rooms with fan, right next to the beach, a 5-minute walk from the conference venue. A nice bar is also on the premises. Rooms have traditional baths with fresh water (but not hot water) and Western toilets. Rate includes breakfast.
