Depending on where you are arriving from, you can travel to Bandung either by air, train, or a shuttle bus (‘travel’).
By AirIf you are coming from outside of Indonesia, there are two possible transit points to Bandung’s airport (BDO, Husein Sastranegara): Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. If you are coming from within Indonesia, you can fly directly from Denpasar (Bali) or Surabaya. Lion Air or Garuda may offer flights from additional locations within Indonesia as well. Via Singapore AirAsia has three nonstop flights daily from Singapore Changi International Airport (SIN) to Bandung. Tigerair (formerly Tiger Airways; Singaporean-based) also offers one flight daily from Singapore to Bandung. Silkair offers one flight everyday except Tuesday and Wednesday. (Singapore Airlines offer flights which are in fact operated under Silkair.) Via Kuala Lumpur Only AirAsia has at least four nonstop flights daily from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) to Bandung. Note that AirAsia fly out of the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, so if you're arriving in Kuala Lumpur on another airline, you'll have to transfer terminals, which takes a bit of time. Other airlines require transit. Via Surabaya Lion Air offers two daily nonstop flights from Surabaya to Bandung in the morning. Garuda offers one daily nonstop flight at midday. Via Denpasar Lion Air offers three daily nonstop flights throughout the day from Surabaya to Denpasar. Garuda also has one nonstop flight daily. This might be an option for those flying from Australia, since from Australia there are often cheap flights available to Denpasar in Bali. Traveling from Bandung Airport to UPI Bandung’s Husein Sastranegara airport is located 4km northwest of town, at the end of Pajajaran Street. The easiest and most convenient way of getting from the airport to your hotel is by taxi. However, there's no metered taxi available from Bandung airport. The official taxi of the airport uses a taxi ticket. You can buy the ticket, which shows the amount you have to pay to the driver depending on your destination, at the taxi booth near the international arrival exit gate. It will cost around IDR 80 0000 from the airport to UPI. You can also check with your hotel about transportation from the airport, as many hotels provide a free airport transfer services. Make sure you have a booking from your hotel.
By TrainYou can take the train directly to Bandung from a couple places within Indonesia. From Jakarta, the best train service is the Argo Parahyangan (business/executive 95 000/110 000 IDR, 3 hours) from Gambir Station, with departures almost every hour. From Yogyakarta, there are a number of trains such as the Mutiara Selantan or Lodaya leaving throughout the day and night which take approximately 8 hours; prices range from 160 000 (business) to 445 000 IDR (executive). There are also departures from Solo and Surabaya. Surabaya takes at least 13h; it might be better depending on your time to travel via air. You can check the schedule at this website. You can buy tickets directly at the train station, or order a ticket from a mini-mart such as Alfamart or Indomart, and then pick up your original ticket at the train station at least one hour before your departure.
